How to use this worksheet

Children recognize a repeating visual sequence and choose the item that completes it.

  • Pattern Recognition
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Attention

How to do it

Read the direction aloud and do the first item together. Look at each repeating pattern of circles, squares, triangles and other shapes, work out what changes (shape, color or size) and circle the shape that goes in the empty box.

Easier or harder

Easier: Point out the first comparison area and offer one verbal clue without naming the answer.

Challenge: Have the child design a similar puzzle for an adult to solve.

What you need

  • Printed worksheet
  • Pencil, crayon or marker as appropriate

Teacher and parent guidance

Ask the child to describe the rule or difference aloud; explaining the strategy strengthens careful observation.

Age and difficulty

For Kindergarten learners, accuracy and a clear strategy matter more than finishing quickly.
